Privacy statement
This page describes what happens to personal information on SEO Scotland and what rights you have over it. It is written to be read rather than skimmed.
What information is handled
SEO Scotland is a set of static pages. Reading them does not require you to identify yourself and does not create any record with Shake Digital.
If you write to Shake Digital, the message and whatever you choose to put in it are held so that they can be read and answered.
Logs kept by the host
Serving a web page leaves a technical record with the hosting company. Such logs usually contain the requesting IP address, the address asked for and a timestamp. They belong to the host, are kept for security and operational reasons, and are not passed to Shake Digital for analysis.
Cookies and tracking
SEO Scotland does not use cookies to identify or track you, and it runs no analytics of its own. Some pages may include material delivered by another provider, such as an embedded map. Where they do, that provider may set cookies of its own, under its privacy terms rather than this page's.
What information is used for
Information reaches Shake Digital only when you send it, and it is used only for the reason you sent it, which is normally to get an answer. It is never sold and never used to advertise to you.
Who else sees it
Shake Digital does not sell, rent or trade personal information, and nothing you send is passed to another organisation for its own purposes. Information would be disclosed only where the law requires it.
What you can ask for
UK data protection law gives you rights over information about you. You can ask for a copy of what is held, have mistakes put right, have the information erased, and object to it being held. Requests are made with Shake Digital directly, and Shake Digital will respond to them. You also have the right to raise the matter with the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how it is handled.
